We were lucky enough to get into the Hagley Hall Wedding Fayre a few weeks ago. We’d been trying to exhibit at Hagley for a while now but it’s very popular, and we finally managed to make it! It’s run by a team of lovely people who manage a truly stunning venue, easily one of the most impressive stately homes we’ve ever been able to visit, and an incredible venue to have your wedding at. Some venues we’ve exhibited at in the past are very keen to show off potential brides around their venue on the day, but don’t really engage with the exhibitors much. The team at Hagley were bringing the potential brides around the venue, recommending exhibitors present and pointing out where the exhibitors had displayed their items, such as our china.
Not only did we do our usual stand of vintage loveliness, but the very kind people on the events team also let us decorate one of their large round tables in the long gallery and set it for a full dinner service, so we got to display a whole dining table worth of china. As you can see from the photos below, it looked pretty good, even if we do say so ourselves!
We do easy to work out package prices, and the photos show a full table setup including dinner plates, which is £4 per person. If you just need afternoon tea, it’s £3 per person for a full setup. If you’d like a custom option, please contact us for details! We’re happy to hire throughout the West Midlands, Staffordshire, Shropshire, Worcestershire and Warwickshire.
Hi all. Thanks for being patient with us. We’ve had a few issues with our web host over the last few months, and the final straw was when they upgraded our web control panel and destroyed the Word Press admin pages, so we couldn’t update. We’ve finally moved over to a new host and managed to get it all back working again, so will get some new posts with some real weddings, and some of our new items such as Ernie the Milk Urn, real soon.
A few weeks ago, the lovely Emma and Chris got married. They had an amazing tipi wedding in Lincolnshire, and hired a couple of trunks, bunting, and picture frames with blackboards from us, and painted their own awesome signs. It looked like an amazing wedding, they did a great job!
As sleepless nights with a newborn aren’t tough enough, at Pinnies and Pearls we’ve decided we’d love to spend some more evenings sorting and washing china, so have decided to celebrate the birth of our daughter with a great new year offer on our china. If you book a china hire for more than £50 for a 2017 date, you’ll get 20% off your hire booking.
So what china can we do for you? We do a range of packages from £2 per person for our basic package of cup, saucer and teaspoon each, teapots and coffeepots, sugar bowl and milk jugs per table. Our higher packages (up to £4 per person) include three tier cake stands, sandwich platters, cream bowls and preserve dishes. Alternatively, you can choose to hire what you need only – for example just teapots or coffeepots – we can be as flexible as you like and can cater from as low as 10 people to more than 100. We can even cater for dinner plates too.
If you’re interested, check out the China Hire and China Packages for more information. We’ll be at the Birmingham Vintage Wedding Fayre on Sunday Feb 5th and the Sutton Coldfield Vintage Wedding Fayre on 2nd April if you want to come and see us to talk about hiring china.
Are you looking for that special styling touch for your venue, wedding or garden party? Got a marquee that’s missing that special twist?
At Pinnies and Pearls, our bunting is one of our hottest items right now. We have 100 metres each of our mixed pastel, pink themed, blue themed and green and hessian themed sets. All are available to hire for £5 per 10 metres.
Check out the Bunting Hire page for more photos of the different colours, and details of our other vintage style items for hire, including china for afternoon tea and much more.
Contact Us by email if you’re interested in hiring, or message us on Facebook. We have plenty of dates left for 2017!
We’ve been pretty quiet on Facebook for a few months – some of you will know we’ve been busy making something a little special. Well, she came just over 2 weeks ago, 8 pounds 6 oz, Melissa Sophia Harding. Mom and baby are doing well and mom is almost back to crafting vintage self (minus a whole lot of time!) We’re still going strong with Pinnies and Pearls (including a huge china hire 3 days before this one was due), and will be running some offers to celebrate our new arrival and new year shortly. Check out Emotive Imagery , who did this (and many other) awesome photos for us.
Every year we get involved with one or two weddings that are the wedding of the summer for us, hire wise. This year one of them was Lisa and Adam’s wedding, who got married at Pim Hill Barns in Shrewsbury. The barn is beautiful and they’d gone all out on decorations, including bird cages, pom poms and home made lighting hanging from the roof, hundreds of glass jam jars, and a barn full of our china! They went for our top package, including cream and jam bowls, log slices, hessian runners, three tier cake stands and more.
We rocked up first thing on Saturday morning with a car full of china, and had a great couple of hours setting up the tables and finishing help decorate the barn with Lisa’s family. They had an awesome day and we were lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the lovely bride when we went back to collect our items on the evening. They were kind enough to send us some photos of our items in use through, and you can see them below! Thanks to Sara Beaumont Photography for the lovely photos.
A couple of weeks ago we put up our latest set of bunting, our Green and Hessian set, up at Blakelands for Katie and Rob’s wedding. It complemented their cream and yellow theme really well!
We have 100 metres of this set, as well as 100 metres in our pink, blue and mixed pastel sets. We hire it out at £50 for 100 metres, and can optionally put it up for an additional charge. Blakelands takes 100 metres, and we charge £30 to put it up. We hope you like it as much as we do!
We’ve been doing a few local wedding fayres of late, and today is the last one we have booked at the moment – the Sutton Coldfield Vintage Wedding Fayre, at Sutton Coldfield Town Hall. We’ll be there from 11am-3pm today (Sunday 3rd April) with our vintage china, props and styling, showing a few new items, which we’ll get posted on here this week.
If there are any vintage or chic/rustic wedding fayres near you you think we should exhibit at, as long as they’re in or near the West Midlands, drop us a line and let us know, we’re always interested in finding lovely new fayres to attend!
It’s nice to have a break from planning fayres and hires for this year and take a look at some of our weddings from last year. One of our favourites was Millie and Ben, who were the first couple to book us for their wedding, at our first wedding fayre.
Millie and Ben had their reception at the lovely Worfield Village Hall, originally built before World War 2, and still retaining amazing character. They’d collected lots of china from their family, and hired bunting, teapots, coffeepots, cake plates, cake stands and log slices from us.
We had a great morning on the Friday helping setup – they had a small army of helpers transforming the village hall with our bunting, their fairy lights, table cloths, runners and about 10 car fulls of vintage – much of it home made.
